More from Robert Wyatt (2) …

I had asked Robert to let me know if he found anything ‘wrong’ in my memoir.  Apart from me implying he was rich because he was wearing expensive clothes when I first met him (which I put right in a previous blog), he says to add the following:

“Incidentally, both Carla Bley and Nick Mason first heard Gary on Rock Bottom (Robert’s first solo album).  I love it when that happens: how musicians find each other.  I did a one-off solo gig of this album – Gary joined me for that so it was just the two of us.”

He also said to add in my concert list: LIVE AT DRURY LANE (with Mongezi Feza, Laurie Allan, Mike Oldfield, Nick Mason, John Peel, Julie Tippett, Hugh Hopper, Fred Frith, et al).
“Gary and Mongs were in wonderful form on this – and it was Robert Wyatt’s [sic] last live gig ever.”
I certainly meant this to go in because it was such a great concert, but somehow it got left out of the last draft of my book. *

Lastly, he said I should add to the discography: FICTITIOUS SPORTS – Nick Mason’s solo album with Carla Bley, on which Gary and Robert played.  *ditto for this; I wrote it in the list, but it disappeared.  How I wish I didn’t make mistakes!

If anyone else finds anything ‘wrong’ – or something that should be added, please let me know!
